Hello I've ordered today the Kit of parts including SMD-stuffed PCB, programmed microcontroller As there is some delay to receive it, i would like to know if errors found on the PCB will be fixed and people who ordered the kit will get a fully working PCB. Novices should get some trouble to fix PCB themself as it looks to be a bit tricky to modify errored PCB ... Elektor can you confim what we will receive ? Many thanks

Yes, the kits will contain fully working PCBs, no need for any reworking of PCB tracks. Supply is delayed however due to circumstances beyond our control. Watch the project page on this website for expected time of arrival. Jan

Hi Jan Can you reply to my question regarding soldering the SMDs on this kit. You said it would be easy with a low wattage iron ... I asked if I used my soldering station (60W) with temp set to a figure you gave me ... would that be ok ... ? Is it just temp related ? I don't have another iron at the moment and I currently see the need for another except for this. I am on hols from 25 July to 9th August ... I assume the kit will arrive during that time ... so can you ask your despatch people to make sure mine is sent out with an expected delivery of 9th or 10th August. Otherwise it is likely to be returned by the courier. Paul.

hi Paul I have personally soldered the SMD parts and the two dozen or so leaded parts using a 50-watt Weller / JBC Magnastat iron fitted with the smallest tip I had (approx. 3 mm wide). No problems and a working circuit. I have to admit though that I have 35 years experience in soldering. Being the editor 'only' I have no control over shipments. Please advise our customer department about your holidays and absence. Jan
