a few days ago I decided to update the ELEKTOR GPS receiver using a CP2101 rs232 usb bridge and an IQ (12 channel) instead of SQ.Much smaller footprint and 3v3 is available from the CP2101.Sorted.!so I thought.

Not a single satelite could be captured. My hardware and software is always 100% since I triple check everything.

Then I realized that since the last time I built the originla reciever, 2 mobile phone masts had been installed within 100 yards of my front door.

Hmmm, got into car with laptop amd drove to supermarket carpark and withing couple of minutes captured 8 satelittes and got a 3 D fix.

Any body know how to counteract the effect of these mobile masts or does it necitate a trip to my local BQ store for a hefty angle grinder?

Looks like I shall remain in a GPS free zone until I move house.Still, I sleep content in the knowledge that no cruise missile can ever be targeted to this locallity hahaha

Regards,
Rg
