I have successfully built the above project and had it working with the monitor program. Unfortunately trying to re-configure receiver to work with route 66 I have got in a mess in that I seem to have lost control. I have tried everything even the reset. In tsipchat data continually streams up the window and any instructions given seem to have little or no effect. Can anyone help?

Can you remember which settings you programmed the last time? Hopefully you left the protocol on Port1 IN to be “TSIP”. Also the Baudrate, etc (iQ-monitors defaults to Odd-parity instead of None!). If you do remember you can start iQ-monitor and change the settings for Port 1 in the program exactly like you programmed them the last time. This seems odd, but only in this way iQ-monitor will change the PC comm settings to match those of your module. If this works, you can change the setting back to their default states (Port 1 IN : TSIP, OUT : TSIP, 9600 Baud, 8 Data bits, 1 Stop bit ODD PARITY!). Maybe a soft reset is needed for the changes to take effect. Now you will start seeing the data again in iQ-monitor and you can start from scratch. Best regards, Paul Goossens ELEKTOR ELECTRONICS Lab

Paul Thanks for your help, still having problems. Should it not possible to do a factory reset to take the receiver back to as originally set? I have tried to do this in IQ monitor again without success. TX and RX leds both flash on the PCB but only the TX in the monitor program. Any futher help you can give would be appreciated.

Yep, I have exactly same problem and only course of action is to remove the backup battery and reboot the PC.Tried everything to get to factory default but without success. Then after cold start SQ monitor kicks in.

Problem solved. Configure everything in tsip. Then the last thing do to is select nmea and then run SQ monitor.
