Hi,

Has anyone any idea on how I can get some basic information (and a circuit diagram) on the GLCD E Blocks display, so I can start to hook it up to my own circuits, please? What voltage is applied to the terminal block( is it the 14V for the display backlight?) Does this voltage need to be current limited? Does the module also need +5V? There is a voltage regulator on the module - does this cover the 3V for the GLCD chip?

I just need to feel comfortable before applying power - the rest of the interconnections are digital.

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike.B,

it is obvious. display uses 5V and the thesignals are to be matched for3.3V Backlit current has to be controlled to a nominal value with either 14V or 5V whichever is suitable.

as the description is NOT that clear in May07 issue, E-blocks GC LCD--

I only wonder why e- block and why not an ordinary 2*16 display and you can programm in assy language--?

Hello

I have not been able to find your post in the MatrixMultimedia Forum are you sure you posted there correctly. There is normally quite a large community willing to help.

All of the information regarding the Graphical LCD is in the Eblocks support center. Here is the link.

http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/eblocks/index.php

The Graphical LCD requires a 12 - 14V supply on its screw terminal. As long as the current is fairly small it wont damage the module.

The onboard regulator sources the 3.3V required for the LCD circuitry and the 12-14V sources the backlight illumination.

Hopefully this will anwser all of your questions.

Ben,

Thanks a million. I posted in the E Blocks site on this forum. This is the first time I have purchased an item from Elecktor. I thought this product was supplied by the magazine - now all is clear now.

Thanks again for your help.
